The Wolverines (0-2) scored both of their touchdowns in the third period. Lorenzo Sanchez sprinted through a huge hole in the middle and outran a defender to the end zone for Polk’s first score, with 8:23 left in the third period, which cut West’s lead to 30-6.

Nolan Simpson, playing quarterback due to an injury to Aaron Jackson, then added a 3-yard touchdown run on a fourth-down play in the final minute of the quarter.

Polk County will travel next Thursday to Landrum for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
