Polk County Farm Bureau has gifted a check to the new nonprofit Farm to Fork Trail, to help in the development of the new endeavor. Five agriculture-related businesses and their leaders are developing a food and drink trail around Polk County that will bring farms, wineries, and restaurants together.

TK Family Farm, Mountain Brook Winery, Looking Glass Creamery, Caitlyn Farms, and the Rural Seed are the 5 founding businesses. The goal is to initiate, develop and expand agritourism in the foothills region of North Carolina. They are inviting similar entities to join and participate in creating a large trail and even hoping to expand to surrounding counties.

The trail will also be generating scholarships and internship programs for those interested in pursuing careers in agriculture-related careers. Farm Bureau is a big supporter of the Farm to Fork Trail and is looking forward to watching the growth and success of the concept. Brittany Klimstra of TK Family Farm accepted the check on behalf of the Farm to Fork Trail.
