TRYON — For Summer Tracks’ sixth and final concert this season on Friday, August 19, Maya de Vitry returns with a new band, new songs, and a voice that transcends genre.

Pennsylvania-raised and Tennessee-based, de Vitry first appeared on the music scene in 2012 with The Stray Birds. After hundreds of performances and several acclaimed albums, she struck out on her own with 2019’s Adaptations and 2020’s How to Break a Fall.

Her latest release, 2022’s Violet Light, takes a deep dive into our unrelenting human desire to belong to a home, an environment, and each other. In addition to writing, recording and touring with her band, Maya collaborates with other artists as a writer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Maya’s band features Joel Timmons (guitars, vocals), Charlie Muench (bass, vocals) and Jason Burger (drums, vocals).

New View Realty of Tryon is the presenting sponsor for this 23rd season of Summer Tracks. The Purple Onion and Heartwood Gallery of Saluda are the co-sponsors for this concert.

All shows begin at 7 p.m. In case of rain, the concerts will move across the street inside the spacious Tryon Fire Dept. Katie D’s N.Y. Bagels & Deli will be selling a variety of slider sandwiches, hot dogs, wraps, chips and desserts. Water and soft drinks will be for sale. Alcohol consumption is allowed in the park but is not for sale.
