The local branch of the Aktion Club is seeking to raise money to rent a van for their upcoming conference in Denton, N.C.

The club is a service leadership program for adults with disabilities with over 10,000 members worldwide. Its primary purpose is to teach members to be better citizens within their community through social contribution. In Aktion Club, every member is a leader, but with the help of their sponsor Sarah Lawter, they also emphasize governance, with each member having a specific role.

The club officers, President Michael Brice, Vice President Andrew Rutherford, Secretary Niesha Coleman, Treasurer John Menard, and founding member Sara Staton will learn about new fundraising techniques and service opportunities at the conference.
