Steps to HOPE hosted a three-week-long summer program for underserved children in our community. Building Tomorrow’s Future allowed the young participants to exercise social skills, express creativity, make decisions in public outings, and learn mental and physical health management skills and coping strategies. The group also learned about the importance of Polk County’s history and wildlife.

Many thanks to area organizations including Polk School Nutrition, Aquarium and Shark Lab Team ECCO, Polk County Public Libraries, Polk County Historical Museum, Calvert’s Kitchen, YMCA of Greater Spartanburg, Gibson Park Pool as well as speaker, Greg Corn. We also want to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to program leaders, Dorene Byars, Libby Chavez, Gracie Edwards, Marilyn Hudson, Amanda McComas, Parker Mullinax, and Wendi Owens.
