Beachwood– Lois Abbott Ell, age 93, of Beachwood, OH, lived in Tryon from 1995 until 2020. She died peacefully after a short illness on July 10, 2022. A native of Babylon, Long Island, NY, daughter of the late Dorothy Ebbs and Paul A. Abbott, of Babylon, widow of Richard G. Ell.

She was predeceased by a son, David William King of New York City, sisters Corinne Dein of West Islip, NY, and Margaret (Peggy) Dunlop of Belle Haven, VA, and survived by a son, Richard King (Julie) of Cleveland, OH and family, seven stepchildren and many step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lois was an avid musician, playing cello in chamber music ensembles for many years in the musical community in and around Tryon. She also loved attending concerts and enjoyed knitting and cross stitching.
