Tryon Country Club held their annual July 4th Flag Day golf tournament on Monday, July 4th. There were 48 players signed up to play golf, and a total of 54 people enjoyed the delicious cookout lunch. The results of the golf event were as follows:

 

1st place – Mike Axelrod – 33

2nd place – Dara Leadford, Charles McKeller, Ted Hiley – tied with a 35

5th place – Georganne Murphy, Mike Burrell, Keith Beaver – tied with a 36

8th place – Peggy Henson, Mike Bates, Tracey Beaver, Diane Torres, John Diekmann, Chris Mulvey – all with a 37

 

The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a 9 hole “Red-White & Blue” event on July 5th, along with a low putts contest. There were twenty ladies competing on a beautiful, but hot morning. The results are listed below:

 

1st place – Claudia Law, KarenLise Bjerring, Ann Gargiulo, Inglis Sellick – 27

 2nd place – Tracey Beaver, Katherine Weathers, Faith Weathington, Ann Cotton – 28

 3rd place – Joyce Arledge, Nancy Hiley, Caroline Brown, Stephanie Demeranville – 28

 4th place – Peggy Henson, Becky Kennedy, Lib McKeller, Cindy Caldwell – 28
