Sarann Voss Rose died on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC. She was born on February 28, 1931, to Elias Reid and Willie Pardue Voss.  

 

Ann married Jack Clinton Rose in 1950, and they had two children. She was a secretary to the President of Salem Academy and College and then worked at Home Moravian Church for twenty years, first as financial secretary and later as secretary to the Senior Pastor.

After retiring, she and Jack moved to the Outer Banks. In 2003 they moved to Tryon Estates, a retirement community in Columbus, NC. Lifelong members of Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, they then joined Tryon Presbyterian Church. Ann volunteered at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, sharing her baking talents with Hospice families, as well as with her many friends at Tryon Estates.  She also worked as a patient care volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital. Ann’s needlework skills were extensive and varied, including knitting for the Red Cross, Toasty Toes for US servicemen and women, and outreach groups at Tryon Presbyterian Church.

 

Ann was predeceased by her parents; Jack, her husband of 64 years; her son, Keith; and her sister, Margaret Voss Gizinkski. She is survived by her daughter, Karen; her grandson and his wife, Shawn and Kathy Rose of Mount Airy, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in God’s Acre in Old Salem.
