The North Carolina Farm Bureau R. Flake Shaw Scholarship was awarded to senior Chan Barber of Polk County High School. North Carolina Farm Bureau awards the R. Flake Shaw Scholarship to students pursuing higher education in an agricultural-related discipline. 

 

Chan is attending NC State in the fall and is pursuing a major in Agricultural Education and a minor in Crop and Soil Science. Chan has served as the Polk County FFA president, historian, and Chaplin over the last four years at Polk County High School and has attended many agriculture leadership camps over the summers. 

 

Farm Bureau is honored and proud to award this scholarship to Chan and wishes him much success in his agricultural college career at NC State.
