First of all, my bladder tumors are back. I’ll be having them removed on June 2. This is my fifth such procedure. I’m not in any pain, just extreme discomfort. The good news is once again it was caught early. The previous tumor lasted over three years.

 

I have been busy with several little guys. Blessing, a little Poodle, 13 years of age, wasn’t eating his food and was just not being himself. It is very unlike Blessing to be lethargic. I had him brought in for tests and x-rays. Thank goodness there weren’t any major problems and last I heard he was sent home with some meds I can’t pronounce. Sometimes there isn’t anything major in a case I handle, but peace of mind is priceless.

 

Pablo, my little long-haired Chihuahua, also 13 years of age, had developed a small growth behind his ear. My wife Elaine took him to Landrum vet to have it checked, and to have some dental work done. I instructed my dear wife unless it’s cancerous or causing him pain, leave it be. Dr. Lara at Landrum gave Pablo a clean bill of health and said he’s doing just fine. Pablo loves getting his teeth brushed now; he considers the vanilla-flavored toothpaste a treat. Another peace of mind visit.

 

The day after Pablo’s visit I received a call from Keith, a gentleman who’s recovering from throat cancer, and is currently out of work. A supporter of Lennie’s kids who goes to church with Keith recommended me. Keith’s dog is a 9-year-old long-haired Chihuahua named Quiver. Quiver wasn’t walking, wasn’t eating, and was having problems breathing. An appointment was set at Bonnie Brae and Quiver was placed in the very capable hands of Dr. Iain Fitch. I got to meet up with Keith and Quiver at Bonnie Brae and the little pooch did not disappoint me at all. He has all the same characteristics as my Pablo and proceeded to wash my face with kisses when I held him. Quiver is a tan Chihuahua whereas my Pablo is black.  

 

Tests were ordered for Quiver, all his bills have been paid and last I heard Quiver is coming along just fine. The best we can deduce is that little Quiver may be suffering from anxiety, due to Keith’s illness, but he is doing better. All of us old-timers (my kids and I) are working to get on the mend so that we can get back in the ring and fight on. Thanks for listening.
