Tryon Presbyterian Church invites children and their families to an Easter egg hunt and lots more Saturday, April 16. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the church at 430 Harmon Field Road.

“It will be an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt with a different twist,” said church member Susan Speight.

The twist is that every child, up to age 10, will find eggs and turn them in for prizes. The prizes will include craft items that the kids will make themselves, with guidance, such as Easter hats and wreaths.

Church member Martha Miller will tell a story about the angel that rolled away the stone, as Tryon Presbyterian Church hopes all children will hear the Easter message. But families of all faiths are welcome.

“Easter is a time of celebration,” TPC Pastor Allan Purtill said. “Our congregation wants to share our joy with our community. We’ll offer activities that are fun and definitely family friendly – for all families.”

Also planned are face-painting and balloon animals that children can take home, along with other treats and home-made baked goods.

Space is limited, so please register at www.tryonpresbyterian.org or call 803-429-6242. There is no charge. And don’t forget your basket. Happy Easter!
