Victim suffers gunshot wound to hand

On Monday March 21, just before 1:00 a.m. Spindale police responded to Rutherford Regional Hospital in reference to a shooting that took place at Sterling Oaks Apartments located at 131 Armstrong Drive, Spindale NC. Two individuals were hospitalized. A third victim arrived moments later, and police were able to link the incidents based on information one of the victims gave them. 

One of the victims has been identified as Bryson Alex Flynn, 20 of Mill Spring NC. His injury was not life threatening. Flynn suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and was transferred to Mission Hospital for further treatment of his injuries. The other victims were identified as Tyleck Sabion Whitesides, 19 of Rutherfordton, NC and Jaylea Paige Philyaw, 20 of Morganton, NC.
