Weaver listed as one of state’s top linebackers by recruiting service

Polk County junior Angus Weaver has caught the eye of another recruiting service.

 

Prep Redzone has Weaver listed as its 10th-rated linebacker in the class of 2023 as well as the 66th overall player in the class.

The rising senior had 120 tackles and seven sacks last season in leading Polk County to the second round of the state 2A playoffs. As a running back, he had 1,186 yards and 11 touchdowns and now has 2,974 yards for his career.

 

Polk County is set to open its 2022 season on August 19 at Newton-Conover.
