A group of Polk County Schools students and their families recently had an opportunity to once again take part in activities relating to the “Rhythms of My Community” project.

Families of students in grades first through third were asked to participate in a family engagement activity similar to the one they previously completed, that involving families creating robots from recyclables.

This second activity encouraged families to choose and research another country for Robot Max to visit. Students were asked to include an outline of the country, describe popular music and dance and detail animals that live in their chosen country.

Imagining and drawing a new character, who could lead Robot Max on a tour of the country, allowed for student creativity in this research activity. Each family then created an informational poster to share with other students.
