Columbus– Tommy “Doc” Stott, 63, of Tryon passed away on January 27, 2022. He was the
son of Doris Culbreth Stott and the late Odus Wayne Stott.
He was a long-time employee of the Town of Tryon Water Department. He
served over 20 years in Tryon and Columbus Fire Departments. He served as
Captain at the Columbus Fire Department.
He is survived by his mother Doris Stott; a son Duston Stott (Kelli); two
daughters Dana Threlfall (Grant) and Tasha Holt; two sisters Judy Stott and
Tammy Gary; and 13 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Petty Funeral
Home from 6:00-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at
Hickory Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Lockee and Pastor
Mackenzie Gary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NC Polk County Toy Run, c/o
Barry Gee, 76 Ivie Trail, Columbus, NC 28722.
