TRYON – Sharon Yoder Burrell, 70, of Tryon, passed away, Friday morning, January 21, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Leah Murdoch Yoder and wife of the late Tommy Burrell who passed away in 2018. Mrs. Burrell worked many years at Home Trust Bank and later retired from Polk County Schools. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and all the animals around her home, wild and tame. Mrs. Burrell was a member of First Baptist Church of Tryon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Yoder.

Surviving is one son, Cale Burrell (Casi) of Tryon; two grandchildren, Badge Burrell and Leah Burrell; one niece, Kim Turner of Candler.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., February 5, 2022, at Tryon Fine Arts Center Amphitheater with Reverend Dr. Jeff Harris officiating.

A private burial will take place at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
