The first meeting of 2022 for the Foothills Music Club was held January 13 at Tryon First Baptist Church. The theme for the program was “Adagios and Allegros.”

Opening the program was Susan Hartley, playing  several movements from Telemann’s Fantasia 1 on treble recorder. Also performing movements from a Telemann Fantasia was Karen Molnar on unaccompanied bassoon. The Adagio from Funf Klavierstucke by Franz Schubert was selected by pianist Carole Bartol, while pianist Sally Dayton chose CPE Bach’s Allegro di molto in F and von Weber’s Adagio Patetico. Pianist Karen Crutchfield concluded the program with several movements from the very moving Sonata in Ab Major, Op. 26 by Beethoven.
