Tuesday Morning Book Group met on January 4, 2022 to begin the new year with a stimulating discussion. Dedicated readers have continued to gather despite the pandemic, at Brookside Park pavilion in Landrum in pleasant months and on Zoom in unpleasant weather. They now return to Polk County Library where masks are worn to meet safely in person.

Founded in 2008 by Diane Zimmerman and Susan Speight, the club has seen its members come and go through the years. Founding member Diane (currently a resident of Asheville) and Charter members Phyllis Martin and Gretchen Boyd have remained active throughout the group’s 15-year history.

Diane describes the group of women as “insightful, intelligent, thoughtful, and inclusive.” The same might be said of the literature which is shared and discussed.
