Margot Carter named Executive Director of Outreach

The Outreach Board of Directors has named Margot Carter the new Executive Director effective December 1, 2021. Margot, well-known in Polk County, served Outreach as the Communications, Marketing, and Development Director for 5 years and most recently as the Interim Executive Director. She also brings to the position 18 years of experience in the financial industry with First Union National Bank and Bank of America in Charlotte. When offered the position, Margot said, “It’s an exciting time to be involved with Outreach, and I feel honored to have this opportunity. I have a passion for Outreach and the Polk County community. I look forward to continuing to serve alongside our talented staff, devoted volunteers, and dedicated Board of Directors.”

Outreach President Heidi Shull said, “The Outreach Board is confident Margot Carter is the person with the skills and talents to lead Outreach as we continue assessing and serving the needs of Polk County residents. She has exciting ideas and a lot of energy, and the Board of Directors is enthusiastic about working with her as she develops her vision for Outreach.”

Margot resides in Tryon with her husband, Polk County native, Robert Carter and two children, Rollins (19), a freshman at UNC-Charlotte and Lawson (16), a sophomore at Polk County High School.
