SUNNY VIEW – Glenda Ruff Jackson, 76, of Sunny View, went home to be with Jesus, Thursday afternoon, December 2, 2021, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Edison Ruff and Florence Lawter Ruff. In the past, Mrs. Jackson worked at Rhode Island Textile in Landrum and Tryon Estates. She spent most of her life raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed gardening and working at her church. She was a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Ruff.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Donald Jackson; three daughters, Libby Berg (Ralph) of Waycross, GA, Wanda Peters (Brian) of Sunny View and Emily Owen (Joe) of Sunny View; one sister, Edith Gilbert of Sunny View; eleven grandchildren, Ian Berg, Michael Stroud, Kristyn Coffel (Jacob), Jennifer Burgess, Brittany Clemmons, Jessica Leija (Adan), Ericka Berg, Brandon Peters (Austin), Sara Berg, Autumn Owen and Bryson Owen; five great-grandchildren, Jordann Stroud, Whitney Curtis, Jackson Walters, Brantley and Madelyn Peters; and a sister-in-law, Vernette Ruff of Barlind, AR,.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, December 4, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Coopers Gap Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Hollifield, Reverend Warren Elliott and Reverend Charlie Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

At other times, the family will be at the home.
