Green Creek, NC– Paul Howard Scruggs, 80, of Green Creek, NC passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was the son of the late Jim and Frances Pritchard Scruggs and husband of Mary Bishop Scruggs.
He was a member of Sandy Springs First Baptist Church and a graduate of Chesnee High School. Before Retiring in 1993, he worked 31 years as an Engineer with Alltel. After retirement, he enjoyed working for Hayes Backhoe Service.
He was a lifelong farmer on his homeplace farm and enjoyed farming his cattle alongside family. He loved his John Deere tractor, riding his four-wheeler around the farm and driving his Dodge Truck. He loved his family and cared for them dearly. During his time of need it was his beloved wife Mary who cared for him, chauffeured him around the farm and neighborhood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary; his children, Paula Edwards and Kevin Scruggs (Kim) of Green Creek; a sister Carol Jones of Chesnee; six grandchildren Nicholas Edwards, Victoria Mosley (Justin), Ethan Edwards (Sarah), Konner Scruggs (Megan), Kyler and Karson Scruggs; four great grandchildren Branson, Alyssia, Everleigh Mosley and Averie Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Scruggs Dalton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:15pm Friday, November 26, 2021 at Sandy Springs First Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at 3:30pm in the church cemetery conducted by Rev. Terrell Dillingham and Rev. Craig Scruggs.
