Local businesses team up to benefit school

On November 5th, 2021, Parker-Binns Vineyard of Mill Spring, N.C. held a silent auction and fundraiser to help fill the pantry at the Lake Lure Classical Academy. This effort raised $4,910 and was intended to help serve lunch and supplement field trip costs for the children who attend LLCA and may not have the resources to do so independently. Mrs. Alicia Lillberg, of Mill Spring and a family member of Parker-Binns coordinated the event and was blessed with donations from many Rutherford, Henderson and Polk County local businesses. These selfless donations came from a group of business owners that have made it their personal mission to support the community that supports them. This is proof that our small communities can come together to achieve great things, and this is something we could use more of across North Carolina and this great nation. We consider it a privilege to call these folks our neighbors and friends.

Help us in thanking the following local businesses for making this fundraiser possible. Please consider supporting “local” as we approach our holiday season of giving. Enough small businesses have succumbed to this pandemic while “big box” stores have thrived.
