Shelby– Mark Warren Henson, Jr., 34, of Shelby, passed away, Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his home following a sudden illness.

Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of Mark Warren Henson Sr. of Columbus and Angela Arrowood Cheek of Hernando, FL. Mark was a graduate of R.S. Central High School and worked at Durand’s Auto Detail Shop.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Earl Henson, and Fletcher Burrell Arrowood. Surviving in addition to his parents is his two sisters, Amelia Stieber of Stafford, VA, and Olivia Henson of Greensboro, NC; one brother, William Cheek of Rutherfordton, NC; one daughter, Halie Ann Henson; two sons, Lincoln Taylor Henson, and Maddox Noel Henson; fiancé, Jenna Gardner of Shelby; grandmothers, Edith Vehorn and Blanche Arrowood.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, November 3, 2021, at the McFarland Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Mr. John Wesley Lankford officiating.

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Polk County Toy Run, 164 Government Complex Drive, Columbus, North Carolina 28722.
