After most places took the year off last year because of the pandemic, things are back in full swing this year.

Halloween is on Sunday, but most of the events will be held on Friday, with the Landrum stroll held on Saturday.

On Friday, Oct. 29 from 3:30-5:30 p.m., children can go trick-or-treating and enjoy Halloween festivities at the Polk County High School Farm. The Halloween at the Farm event will have games, animals, face painting, pumpkin picking, refreshments and candy.

Also on Friday, from 4- 7 p.m., Discover Columbus is hosting the Spooktacular Halloween Event downtown. The event will be held around the courthouse brick sidewalk, where local businesses and other organizations will be set up around the courthouse to offer treats to the little ghosts, monsters, princesses and superheroes in a safe environment. In case of rain, the Columbus event will be moved to Stearns Gym, located on Peak Street.

On Friday, Oct. 29, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its second annual FrightFest. The event will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the sheriff’s office and will be a drive-thru event.

On Friday, Oct. 29 from 5-6:30 p.m., the Town of Tryon will hold its annual Halloween Stroll downtown. Downtown businesses will be outside to hand out candy and costume contests. The Tryon Downtown Development Association sponsors the stroll.

The City of Saluda and the Saluda Business Association will also host its Halloween Stroll downtown on Friday, Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m.

The City of Landrum’s Halloween Stroll and Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30 downtown. The event will be from 5-7 p.m. and feature businesses handing out candy. There will be a trunk or treat, games and a costume contest at 6:30 p.m. at the Landrum Depot.
