67-year old killed in motor vehicle accident Saturday

LANDRUM—A Landrum man was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday morning, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office. 

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Laurent “Larry” Paul Dietz, 67, of Quincy Drive in Landrum died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. 

Dietz was pronounced deceased at 12:26 p.m. on Saturday from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 14 and North Blackstock Road in Landrum, Clevenger said. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. 

Clevenger said on Saturday that his office had not been able to identify any living relatives for Dietz and as for people to keep his church family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
