Landrum Fire called for kitten under a tanker truck
LANDRUM—A small kitten has gained the appropriate name of “Hitchhiker” after it likely had the ride of its life this week.
The kitten was rescued from underneath a tanker truck on Monday.
A trucker stopped in Landrum on his route and contacted the Landrum Fire Department to rescue the kitten after it was stuck from at least BMW close to Greenville to Landrum along Interstates 85 and 26.
Paws.Prayers.Promises came to get the kitten and took it to Landrum Veterinary Hospital, where it was checked out and given fluids. The kitten is missing most of her tail.
This is the second cat rescue recently with local fire departments involved. The Columbus Fire Department rescued a cat last week that had been stuck in a tree for days near Red Fox Country Club. That cat was reunited with its owners.
