COLUMBUS — On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Robert E. Kennedy, loving husband and father passed away at age 85.

Bob was born on February 18, 1936 in Bristol, Virginia to Ernest English and Edna Leonard Kennedy. He received his B.S. degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 1965 and practiced residential architecture in Knoxville, TN and Charlotte, NC.

Bob had a passion for watercolor painting, specializing in barns and rural settings. He also loved working in his yard, bird watching and was a music lover. He was known for his infectious smile and his kind compassionate spirit.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, his mother Edna and his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife, Karen, his five children, Brian, Amy, Molly, Jennifer and D’Arcy, his sister Joyce, 8 grandchildren and one great grandson.

A celebration of his life will be held at Tryon Presbyterian Church, Tryon, NC on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11 o’clock a.m.
