The newsletter, “POLK COUNTY SHERIFF” is aimed to keep the community up to date with the most recent public safety, crime, community and educational happenings in the county, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Staff Attorney and Public Information Officer John Sauve said this week.

The newsletter provides the previous month’s crime and activity statistics as well as press releases of the sheriff’s office over the preceding month and information about upcoming events in the community.

The first issue includes press releases on the sheriff’s office giving a $12,800 check to the school board for property seizures, the Polk County E-911 communication center receiving upgrades, 7 residents graduating from the sheriff’s office citizen academy and information regarding an upcoming rabies clinic.

To sign up for the newsletter email or to be put on the mailing list, contact Community Programs Manager Cindy Wicklund at 828-817-8007 or email her at cwicklund@polknc.org
