TRYON – Glennie Marie Henson Bolling, 84, of Tryon passed away Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2021 at Mary Black Hospital.
Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Henson and Lillie Mae Hannon Henson Conner. Mrs. Bolling was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Stonecutter Mills. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius R. Bolling; two sons, Bruce Bolling and Mitchell “Paco” Bolling.
Surviving are three sons, Cornelius R. Bolling, Jr. (Olga) of Easley, Lee Bolling (Courtney) of Easley and Michael Bolling of Tryon; four daughters, Terresa Shelton of Tryon, Gale Palmer of Landrum, Harriett Bastarache (David) of Inman and Donna Wiener of Mill Spring; one sister, Clara Thompson of Green Creek. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Mr. Neil Bolling and Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
Burial will follow in Faith Temple Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring with military rites by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
