COLUMBUS, NC—Lee R. Mell, 83, of Columbus, NC died Tuesday, December 13, 2020 at his home as a result of congestive heart disease and COPD. Lee was born in Aurora, IL and was the son of the late Thomas and Carol Mell.  He graduated from Maple Park High School in 1955 and entered the Navy for two years.  Lee was a member of Columbus United Methodist Church.  Surviving is his wife, Rose; two sons, Randy and Jeff Mell; a daughter, Jerri Ott; four grandchildren, Ashley Urdaneta, Tom Pisarski, Leah and Ethan Mell; and two great grandsons, Ethan and Logan Urdaneta. No services will be held at this time. At a later date, the family will revisit the many locations where he lived, worked and enjoyed life.
