The Polk County Hunter Skills Team will be holding a Canned Food Drive for Thermal Belt Outreach on Saturday, November 14 from 8:00 a.m. to noon in front of IGA Grocery in Tryon.
Please come out and join in helping our community! With the holidays coming up, more difficulties than usual have faced this year, our community needs help more than ever.
The Polk County Hunter Skills Team teaches responsible hunting practices, wildlife and habitat conservation, proper firearm safety and use and certifies all team members in the NC Wildlife Hunter Safety Course. Our team competes in a tournament held by the NC Wildlife Youth Hunter Education program. We compete in Hunters Education, Orienteering, .22 Rifle, trap Shotgun and Archery.
If you would like to learn more, or are a Polk Co. student grades 6-12, and are interested in joining our team please come on out to see us this weekend. You will be able to pre-order your cooked Boston Butts ready just in time for New Year’s Day as well as raffle tickets will be available.
We look forward to seeing you there!
