County has 25 new cases this week

POLK COUNTY—Polk County had another 25 cases of COVI-19 this week which pushed the county at over 400 cases. 

As of Friday, the county had 405 cases, an increase of 25 since last week. 

The county has tested 9,040 people and there are 361 presumed recovered. There were 16 tests still pending as of Friday. 

There have been 12 people in the county who have died from the virus. 

Most of the positive cases most have been women at 55.31 percent compared to males at 44.69 percent, according to the Polk County Health and Human Service Agency. 

Most of the county’s cases have been in people age 25-49 at more than 100 of the county’s cases. There have been more than 80 cases in people 50-64 years of age; more than 60 cases in people age 75 and older; more then 60 cases in people age 65-74; about 30 cases in people 0-17 years of age and more than 20 cases in people 18-24 years of age.

The county has had 37 people hospitalized from the virus. 

North Carolina as of Friday had a total of 271,830 positive cases with 1,196 people currently hospitalized across the state. The state has completed 3,994,670 tests.
