MAULDINDiane Ravan Recca, 69, of Mauldin passed away Thursday morning, August 27, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late J.D. and Nell Dedman Ravan. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always went above and beyond and would love you to the moon and back. Diane worked many years as a caring assisted living hairdresser. She and her brother “Bid” were very close and when the time come for him to need a kidney transplant, she lovingly donated a kidney to him. Diane was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, Kentucky Derby fan and enjoyed going to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino with “Bid”.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Warner Nunn; two brothers, Jerry “Shine” Ravan and William “Bid” Ravan.

 

Surviving is her two daughters, Sheri Wellman of Mauldin and Heather Spillers (Drew) of Fountain Inn; two brothers, Charles Ravan (Faye) of Monks Corner and Phillip Ravan of Columbus; six grandchildren, Amber, Joshua, Jessica, Breana, Kaiyah and Graydon; four great-grandchildren, Caden, Kinley, Grayson and Alena.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2020 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Peter McDonald officiating.

 

The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

 

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude.
