Understanding the Electoral College

The Lanier Library is pleased to offer another free Online @ Lanier program, Thursday, August 27 at noon. This month’s program explores the Electoral College with retired University of South Carolina – Spartanburg Chancellor, Olin Sansbury. He will explain how the institution works and how it impacts our elections.

It is one of the more maligned institutions of the American political system, but the Electoral College is embedded in the US Constitution and US Presidential elections are determined by how the popular vote is distributed through its prism.
