SALUDA – Anthony Samuel Pace, 48, of the Fork Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020 at his home following a battle with cancer.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Saluda, he was the son of Ralph Samuel Pace and Hazel Blackwell Pace of Saluda. Anthony was a graduate of East Henderson High School Class of 1990. After graduation, he went on to work for Cranston Printworks until its closure and then Bommer Hinge Company until his death. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman enjoying deer hunting and camping. He was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife of eight years, Kelly Summey Pace; two step-sons, Brent Welty of Hendersonville and Robert Welty (Darian) of Greensboro; four step-daughters, Megan Read (Jacob Norwood) of Mill Spring, Hannah Strickland of Hendersonville and Jasmine Strickland of Hendersonville and Tori Strickland of Saluda; four sisters, Sheila Morley (Tom) of Saluda, Debbie Pace (Ramon) of Tuxedo, Kathy Hayes of Columbus and Karen Burgess (Scott) of Amity, Ark. Also surviving are nine step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2020 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Metcalf and Reverend Jason Metcalf officiating.

 

The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

 

Private family burial will follow in the Pace Family Cemetery.

 

Anthony was loved by all.
