The tests are available as a drive-thru for people with or without symptoms.

Testing will be done from 7:30-9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16 at 40 Ward Street, Columbus. No appointment is necessary and the testing will be free while supplies last.

Polk County has been doing free testing for weeks, with record numbers last week at the Polk County Middle School. Testing has also been done at the Saluda Fire Department, at Wheat Creek Church and at the former jail site in Columbus.

For general information about COVID-19 people can call 211. For other questions or to schedule a test, people can call the Polk County message line at 828-722-5086.
