Mark Stephen Seymour, 53, of Lakeshore Drive, Tryon was arrested and charged with 11 counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to sheriff’s office reports.

The sheriff’s office said on June 8, the criminal investigations division received a report of child pornography located on a computer. The investigation confirmed that the owner of the computer resided in Polk County, so investigators took the hard drive to forensic analysts at the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, which confirmed the report.

The sheriff’s office conducted a search warrant of Seymour’s home and the arrest was made.

Seymour was issued a $200,000 secured bond.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still active and investigators are working with the SBI and federal agencies, and further charges are expected.
