Two-car crash kills Greer woman Thursday night

CAMPOBELLO—A woman from Greer, S.C. died Thursday night after a crash in Campobello, S.C., according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The two-car crash occurred Thursday evening around 5:05 p.m. on Goodjoin Road near Motlow Creek Road and Jug Factory Road.

Reba Jeanette Deal, 77, of Greer, was transported to the hospital but later died, according to the coroner’s office. The driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of a 2009 Subaru Legacy was headed north on Jug Factory Road while the driver of a 2007 Honda Odessy was traveling east on Goodjoin Road, according to state trooper reports. The driver of the Subaru did not give the Honda right of way and the Honda crashed into the Subaru, according to initial reports.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital.

The highway patrol and coroner’s office say they will both continue to investigate the crash.
