Every year since 1992, on the first Saturday of June, businesses and land trusts across North Carolina have come together to celebrate Land Trust Day.

Land Trust Day highlights the important role that protected lands and the outdoors play in our communities. It has always served as an initiative to create partnership opportunities and build relationships between businesses and their local land trusts.

Land Trust Day will look a little different this year, says Executive Director Kieran Roe.

“With many businesses closed this year, we are not asking them to donate,” he said. “Instead, we would like to honor the businesses that supported us in 2019 and encourage our community to come together to support these businesses and conservation.”

This year, consider shopping, buying a gift card, or ordering food from one of the local Land Trust Day partners. Then, consider making a donation to Conserving Carolina. Every gift given up to $5,000 will be matched thanks to the generosity of Hunter Subaru. “The need for conservation, trails, parks and getting outside does not stop,” Kieran Roe said.

Hunter Subaru, “is proud to partner with Conserving Carolina. We love being a part of this community and take to the trails as much as we can. It’s the Subaru way of life and we cannot think of a better way to give back.”
