COWPENS – McQueen “Mack” Salley Richards, 71, of Cowpens passed away, Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020 at Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville.

 

Born in Henderson County, he was the son of the late Willie O. Richards and Rosa Lee Ballew Richards and husband of the late Dianna Louise Richards who passed away in 2018. Mr. Richards was a veteran of Vietnam having served in the U. S. Army. He worked 38 years at Carolina Yarn Processors in Tryon.

Surviving two sons, Bruce Richards and John Richards; two daughters, Felicia Richards and Tina Hicks; nine grandchildren, Shadow Hicks, Jasmine Russell, Jacob Russell, Madelyn Blanton, Ny’Quavious Richards, Ny’Jaee Jenkins, Angel Richards, Rose Richards and Dominic Richards; three great grandchildren, Tori Alayna Garner, Noah Lee Garner and Lee Parker; two brothers, Willie Richards and Garland Richards.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Maury Mattison officiating.

 

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

 

Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
