TRYON — Jacquelyn Minick, 89, a longtime resident of Tryon died Tuesday at White Oak Manor where she had lived for a number of years.

 

Jacque was an accomplished interior designer who held a BA from the University of Michigan. It was there that she met her future husband Harold Minick, an industrial designer and architect with whom she regularly collaborated until his passing in 2006.

The couple had relocated to Tryon in 1982 from Marshall, Michigan where they had been deeply involved in the town’s historic preservation movement. They continued their fondness for design and renovation with many projects in the Tryon area.

 

Mrs. Minick is survived by her son Scott, a designer, writer and resident of Hong Kong who was present in the days leading up to her passing.
