New store in Landrum will now open Thursday, Nov. 21
LANDRUM—Local residents may have been disappointed when they visited the new Dollar Tree on Thursday for what was thought to be its opening day.
The Dollar Tree was scheduled to open on Thursday, Nov. 14 but has announced it had to delay its opening by a week.
“We originally planned to open the store tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 14,” said Manager, Investor and Media Relations for Dollar Tree, Inc. Kayleigh Painter. “There was a change of plans and the store is now currently scheduled to open next Thursday, Nov. 21.”
The new Dollar Tree will open at 213 W. Rutherford St. in Landrum. It will be one of 15,115 stores across the United States but the first one to open locally.
The new store is taking over the vacant mall space in 10,000 square feet. Everything is the store is not priced over $1.
Painter said earlier this week the store will bring between 12-20 associate jobs to the area. People can apply for jobs online at dollartree.com/careers or can apply in person at the new store.
