Helen Luiten Crow, of Roswell, GA, passed peacefully in the morning of June 30, 2019.

Born in Hibbing, MN, on March 30th, 1924, to Xavier and Marion Luiten, Helen lived a full life, filled with wonderful times and interesting experiences.  She enjoyed time as a stewardess for TWA, before meeting and marrying Robert P. Crow, who had a full career with Pan American Airways.  Over their 62 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling the world. Starting in San Francisco, they then went on to be stationed in Bangkok, Thailand for 5 years, on to the Philadelphia area, then Chicago and finally retiring in Columbus, North Carolina with a home at Morgan Chapel Village.  Of course, mixed in was worldwide travel with Europe being a favorite destination. For years they made an annual trip to the Rockies. Landing in Salt Lake City, visiting friends, traveling north through Jackson Hole, into Grand Teton Park, Yellowstone and eventually ending up at son Peters in the Sun Valley, ID area with day drives in every direction from there.

Helen was a gentle, compassionate soul, always with kind consideration for others.  A big heart and admirable sense of respectful behavior. She enjoyed her many friends, bridge, garden club, reading, volunteering and birding.  A broad palate had her enjoying many interesting cuisines and treating others to her excellent cooking for the family or at one of the many dinner parties she so enjoyed.

A wonderful mother, grandmother, spouse and friend.  She loved and enjoyed her 3 boys, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She built deep and long lasting friendships that were maintained and grew over the years.

Helen is survived by her brother, Ed Luiten (Donna), Alaska, sons Paul (Sue) of Columbia, PA, Peter of Roswell, GA and Stephen of Alexandria, VA.  Also, grandchildren Jennifer Crow Pomante (Jason) of Downingtown, PA, George (Danielle) of Phoenixville PA and Geoffrey Crow of Sinking Spring PA, and Rachel Sanker of Ketchum, ID.  She truly enjoyed photos of her great grandchildren Lucas and Gabrielle Pomante.

In December of 2016, Helen moved to Roswell, GA to reside closer to her son Peter. They enjoyed many meals and the close proximity became very important.  Stephen and Paul were able to make frequent trips for family visits that were cherished by Helen.

In lieu of a memorial service, the family plans to gather loved ones together in celebration of her life at a later date where her ashes will be scattered at a beautiful favorite mountain lake in the Sawtooth’s of Idaho, with her husband Robert.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
