Roseland Community Center in Tryon was center stage on Saturday, August 17 for the first Eastside Back to School Bash. The Town of Tryon, Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry and Steps to HOPE hosted the event which included free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks. Several inflatable games and many activities including a giant slide and obstacle course. School supplies, books and book bags all donated by the community were handed out.

The event was open to the public and turned out to be a complete success. Over 100 book bags were given to students along with many of the supplies they will need to start this school year off right. Everyone had a fantastic time and we are already looking forward to and planning for the event next year.

Steps to HOPE is the domestic violence and sexual assault shelter and advocacy center serving Polk County and Upstate SC. Please call 828-894-2340 for help, to get involved, for general questions or information.
