Elections in November

 

SPARTANBURG DISTRICT 1—There are four seats on the District 1 School Board that will be up for grabs in the November election. 

Spartanburg School District 1 encompasses: Campobello-Gramling, Holly Springs-Motlow Elementary, Inman Elementary, Inman Intermediate, O.P. Earle Elementary, Landrum Middle, Landrum High, New Prospect Elementary, Mabry Middle, Chapman High, Virtual School, The Scholars Academy, and Swofford Career Center.

Part of the election and candidacy process for individuals interested in running for the School Board is getting 200 petitions from community members within District 1. So far there are ten people that have reached the required 200 petitions and will be eligible to run for election in November. 

The ten people that have already filed are; Randy Bryant from Campobello, Lori Walter from Landrum, Gordon T. Lee from Landrum, Brenda Rogers from Campobello, Travis K. Sloan from Inman, Billy Cothran III from Inman, Warren O’Sullivan from Campobello, Shannon Daugherty from Inman, Tim F. Williams from Campobello, and Bo Cantrell from Inman. 

Travis K. Sloan currently represents Spartanburg County as the Region 14 Director on the South Carolina School Boards Association Board of Directors. 

Interested candidates have until August 9th at noon to gather the petitions needed and enter into their name into the election.
