FGA brings home the gold

On June 13-15th, Foothills Gymnastics Academy (FGA) sent 6 gymnasts to AAU’s 2019 National Championships in Orlando, FL. Hurley Bell, Jessica Sizemore and Eliza Then represented FGA’s Xcel Gold gymnasts. 

 

With first place, Hurley was the National Vault champion with 9.450 and National beam champion with 9.650 as well as received 2nd All Around with a 38.20 and 3rd on bars with a 9.650.

Despite more gymnasts in her division than any other competition during the season, Jessica earned 1st place All around with a 38.00 making her the National All around champion in her division as well as tying for 1st place on beam with a 9.45, 2nd on bars with 9.725 and tying for 2nd on floor with 9.60. 

 

Eliza soared to the top in her division earning 1st All around with 38.175 making her the National All around Champion in her division after placing 1st on beam with a 9.650, 1st on vault with 9.425, 2nd on the bars with 9.7 and 3rd on floor with 9.40. 

 

Zina IshwarCaity Elledge and Anna-Carlisle Keim represented FGA’s Xcel Silver gymnasts.  

 

Zina earned 1st in her division on vault with a 9.70 making her the National Vault champion as well as 2nd all around with a 38.85, tying 2nd for beam with a 9.725 and 2nd for floor with a 9.825. 

 

Anna-Carlisle excelled in her division with a 38.475 All around score for 1st place as the National all around champion in her division as well as receiving 1st place on the beam with a 9.5, tying for 1st on floor with a 9.9, 2nd on bars with a 9.8 and 3rd on vault with a 9.275. 

 

Caity wowed the judged with her beam routine to earn a 9.9 to make her the National beam champion in her division. She also earned 1st on vault with a 9.550 to make her the National vault champion in her division and received 2nd on floor with a 9.80 and 2nd All around with a 38.775. 

 

FGA’s coaches are extremely proud not only of the strong performances from each gymnast but also how well they represented the state and region. We are looking forward to seeing what the next year brings!
