Polk County Sheriff’s Office expands website
COLUMBUS—The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has a new website where residents can now apply for permits, make fingerprint appointments and get other information.
The new website was launched Friday morning.
Other information possible from the new website includes information on the sheriff’s office Volunteers in Partnership Program, information to sign up for Nixle alerts, information on the RUOK program and sex offender information.
The sheriff’s office also plans to include information soon about most wanted persons and inmates.
The new website includes a biography and guiding principles from sheriff Tim Wright, who was elected in November.
There is also contact information for each division of the sheriff’s office and resources and information, including on concealed weapon’s permits, employment, handgun purchase permits, monthly reports, non-weapon fingerprinting, most wanted, news and Nixle, the RUOK program and a sex offender registry for both North and South Carolina.
Support services on the website include for the chaplain, court security, evidence/property, the school resource officers and the VIP program.
