Needle Felted “painting” class to be offered at FENCE

Published 10:58 pm Monday, July 1, 2019

On Saturday, August 3rd from 10am-2pm the talented Irene Heckel returns to FENCE to teach her popular needle felted “painting” class. Irene will teach students the skills to create a unique piece of art using fibers. Beginner needle felters are always welcome; no experience is necessary.

This needle felted painting class involves using fibers to create a “painting” of a pet photo pre-selected by the student. The students will start with a prefelt background and then use fibers to create colors by overlaying and blending colors to get shades. Each student will create their own “painting” to take home at the end of the class. There is a fee for this class which includes all supplies.

Students must provide a photo (headshot only) of the animal they wish to use for their needle felted painting to ensure that the appropriate colored fibers are available. Photos of Cats, Dogs, or Horses are preferred. Photos can be provided via email or dropped off at FENCE and should be size 8”x10” if possible to ensure the best detail.

Space is limited for this class and pre-registration for this event is required. If you would like to attend this class please call FENCE to be added to the sign up list. FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon, North Carolina. For more information about this or upcoming events call FENCE at 828-859-9021 or email info@fence.org.
