Big Brothers Big Sisters is now enrolling children ages 6-14 in their Community-Based program. The organization will have a presentation at the Polk County Public Library on May 2, 6:30-7:30 pm. The session is open to the public to provide info for parents and prospective volunteers.

Volunteers are carefully screened, trained and matched with children to enjoy outings in the community while helping to guide and inspire each child to reach his or her greater potential. Bigs and Littles enjoy activities such as going to the park, hiking, biking, baking, sports, making crafts, and exploring their mutual interests. Volunteers are also needed for the Big Brothers Big Sisters school mentoring program in area schools.

For more info and to register for the info session, please call (828) 859-9230 or email polk@bbbswnc.org. Children are welcome to attend with a parent/guardian, and guests will enjoy free pizza and beverage, compliments of the Polk County Community Foundation.
