Possible Improvements coming to Highway 9

The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing lane and shoulder improvements along Highway 9 from N.C. 108 to U.S. 74 in Polk County. The primary purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow and enhance safety along Highway. 9. 

A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Polk Central Elementary, 2141 Highway 9 in Mill Spring 

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the project and gather input on the proposed design.

The public may attend at any time during the public meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made.  

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops. 

The opportunity to submit written comments will be provided at the meeting or can be submitted via phone, email or mail by May 7, 2019.
